IntroductiON
Have you ever wondered why issues at work persist, even when many people are unhappy about them? It’s likely that several attempts to resolve the problem were made, yet it kept coming back. The underlying issue here is that true improvement does not work without knowing exactly what to resolve. This insight and the skill of finding out and exposing the real root cause of a problem is what makes Black Belts the driving force behind the resolving and prevention of problems. Black Belts know which changes truly contribute. And only through this understanding can lasting improvements be achieved.
All organisations benefit enormously from a reduction of waste. Imagine a department where workflows aren’t disrupted by a lack of materials, waiting times, or defects. By reducing waste, you improve productivity. Lean Six Sigma typically defines 7 types of waste, and Black Belts know how to eliminate each of them. They achieve this either through initiatives on a daily basis, or through complex, inter-departmental projects. The latter is where Black Belts achieve the most significant results, and how they are best utilised. During the course, participants are taught all the essential tools and methods, how to involve stakeholders, and keep efforts focused until results are in the bag.
course variants
Speed is key during our Summer Course. This high-intensity option consists of 6 or 8 consecutive days of training – depending on your choice – followed by an exam to certify you in the shortest amount of time as is possible. It includes all the same content as the others options, as well as access to our MyTraining™ platform.
Interactivity and engagement are key for all of our courses. Together with your fellow participants, you will explore various tools and methods such as Push & Pull, Poka Yoke, Kaizen events, 5S and much more. The same quality as our classroom course sessions but from the comfort of your home or office.
Curriculum
The effectiveness of Lean Six Sigma Black Belts stems from the rare ability to help everyone save time. Time is always in short supply. But by refining processes, creating shared routines and by changing how people deal with hurdles at work, Lean Six Sigma practitioners can save incredible amounts of time. Black Belts learn how to deconstruct and rebuild processes, learn how to involve others in Continuous Improvement and how to improve the working standard for everyone.
The Black Belt Manufacturing course has been created for professionals aiming to employ Lean Six Sigma on a full-time basis within larger, enterprise-sized organisations. Specifically those involved with manufacturing and the mass production of goods. This course is intended for those who seek future employment in the Continuous Improvement field, and the course content reflects this. Included in the course is a coached project and in total will take approximately 4 – 6 months.
Below we have listed an overview of our program and learning materials which you can pick and choose from to study, prepare and consult at any point after your registration.
Getting certified
Successfully completing one of our courses is awarded with an internationally recognised certificate. But what exactly determines the worth of a certificate? We explain why a certificate from The Lean Six Sigma Company is of a higher standard than others on the value of your certificate page.
FiNancial details
Participants of The Lean Six Sigma Company have two options: they can choose from a course which includes a project and all the necessary coaching from an experienced project coach, or enrol in the course without carrying out a project.
Results and cold, hard facts are often the best way to justify a purchase. Our courses are no different, and deliver said results without fail. After having trained countless of people in the Lean Six Sigma methodology, our findings are as follow: Black Belt projects generate extra revenue and/or save costs which can exceed amounts with more than 5 figures. With a project taking approximately 4-6 months, it is even possible to carry out multiple projects a year.
If it is a course for an entire team you’re looking for, then our In-Company pages will be of interest. Our trainers will also host every course we offer to individuals in your organisation. There’s no easier way to get started with Lean or Lean Six Sigma as a team than with our In-Company courses.

FAQ
Every course we provide assumes our students start the course without any understanding of the Lean Six Sigma methodology. It starts with the fundamentals and explains every topic that is mentioned without assuming prior experience. During the course, you will carry out simulations and exercises to help you develop your knowledge. If you choose to carry out a project as part of your course, you will be coached and assisted by one of the (Master) Black Belts of The Lean Six Sigma Company to help you get started.
This depends on your goals and what you intend to achieve. If you would prefer to employ Lean Six Sigma on a part-time basis, for example alongside of other work, the Green Belt course would be the best choice. If it’s your aim to work with Continuous Improvement and Lean Six Sigma on a full-time basis, then the Black Belt course would be the right pick. The same applies to Lean and our Lean Practitioner and Lean Leader course, respectively.
Lean Six Sigma is a methodology that one can start using during any career phase and this course is the ideal starting point. Even as a beginner, your work can add tremendous value. Lean Six Sigma can serve as an addition to your current work, replacing a part of your existing responsibilities. Or it can become a new full-time career, depending on the training you choose.
The Services course is most fitting for those employed in transactional careers such as general administration, logistics, finance, etc. The ‘Manufacturing’ course is most fitting for those involved with mass production, machinery, factories and automation). Of course, those who complete the Manufacturing course can still carry out projects in the aforementioned transactional fields.
The Green Belt course has very little statistics content, as opposed to our Black Belt course. Yet even the Black Belt courses have designed to start at the very basics, on the assumption that our participants aren’t familiar with anything related to statistics. We realise the idea of working with statistics can sound somewhat intimidating, but our trainers have helped thousands of professionals understand (and find their interest in) statistics. Additionally, we offer complementary courses and several videos on our MyTraining™ platform that will help you prepare for, or repeat, specific exercises.
The Lean Six Sigma Company strives to organise its courses during normal working hours.
This is a conscious choice in order to avoid interfering with the private lives of our customers and to them used to the idea of working with Lean Six Sigma during typical working hours, and continue this habit once they complete the course.
However, some local exceptions apply. Please reach out to to the helpdesk in your region if you have any questions

The main difference is the scope of your projects. Green Belt projects are usually aimed at solving issues that affect a small part of a single department. Black Belt projects tend to tackle long-standing, complex issues that cross departmental lines. The responsibilities of a Green Belt align with those of a project manager. Black Belts carry more responsibilities and take a more active, leading role where they direct other Green Belts during projects.
